This workshop goes over the needs that today's fine artists have. The camera is a very important tool for artist. Knowing how to use it with confidence can greatly improve your artwork and presentation. This is a 9 hour workshop and will be broken up into three 3 hour lessons. It will end with a 3 hour photo shoot with a costumed model.
Areas That Will Be Covered:
• Using Important Manual Settings
• Lighting Techniques
• Color temperature
• Shooting with inexpensive lights, and professional strobe lights
• Working with a model for portraits and fine art projects
• Shooting a still life
• Shooting your 2D & 3D artwork
• PhotoShop quick overview
• Reference for art projects
• Images for the internet
• and more
Students will need:
1) A digital camera with full manual features. This means you have control over the f-stop (aperture), shutter speed, ISO settings, and can attached an external flash device, (recommendation: Cannon Rebel). There are others that will work, so consult with a photography store. (if you don't have a camera I'll have two of mine for people to use)
2) Your camera's user manual. Please bookmark these sections in the manual; aperture/f-stop, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and quality. All digital cameras are different, so it may be hard for Dave to show you where your settings are.
3) A tripod
